Duplicate Google Business Profiles: keep one before you appeal
Google asks for one profile for the same business in the area. If there are two, the probable cause of a suspension is the duplicate. Check which profile is the real one, with the true name and address, and keep that one. The other is not kept “so you still show up”. Then submit one appeal for the profile you keep. A duplicate opened on purpose is not a case Rescate takes.
What Google calls a duplicate
The sign-up instructions ask for one profile per area for the same business: https://support.google.com/business/answer/10514137?hl=en. Several profiles for the same business can suspend the account. The representation guidelines, https://support.google.com/business/answer/3038177?hl=en, point the same way: the business is represented once, with real data.
An accidental duplicate is one left from an old sign-up, a former employee, or a user suggestion. An intentional one was opened to take up more than one result. We do not defend the second.
Which one stays
Keep the profile whose name matches the sign and whose address, or service area, is where you actually operate. Reviews are not a reason to keep a keyword name or a virtual office.
Do not create a third profile while you appeal. https://support.google.com/business/answer/4569145?hl=en If Google marked one as a duplicate, the appeal is of that decision, once, with evidence that the profile you are asking for is the real business.
Do not edit the name and the address in the middle of the wait. The documents have to match the profile you appealed.
What the file does not do
It does not write a letter so you can keep both profiles. If the questionnaire says you opened the other one on purpose, the case is refused. If it was an accident, the file puts “keep one”, the letter, and the evidence for a single appeal in order.

Frequently asked questions
Can I have one profile per branch?
Yes, if they are different locations where you serve customers, each with its real address. That is not the same as two profiles for the same shop, or two service areas in the same city.
Do I remove the new profile or the old one?
Keep the one with the real name and address. Age does not win if the other one is the profile that meets the guidelines.
Do I appeal both?
No. The help page asks for one appeal per issue and not to create another profile. You choose the real profile and appeal that decision once.
